made it to atlanta. all checked in. reception at 6:00 tonight, then leave for haiti at 6:00am tomorrow. very happy tonight is daylight savings time. will hopefully be able to post from haiti tomorrow afternoon!

Off to Haiti!!!

So I am off tomorrow morning to Atlanta, then on to Haiti early Sunday morning. Not really confident that I will have telecom access, but I will do my best! Either way, I will post as much as I can, when I can. Talk to you all soon!

12 Days to Go!

So my first post has me getting ready for the big trip. Pretty much all sorted with packing, etc. I am sure I will forget something. I did remember to pack plenty of beef jerky, though. Not sure how much access to power I will have, so lots of battery backup. Spare BlackBerry battery, Power Monkey to recharge the iPod, etc.

Since my previous travels covered most of the "preventative maintenance" needed for Haiti (i.e., shots, etc.), I was only left with anti-malaria pills. Started them this past weekend. One per week for six weeks. Two weeks before, four weeks after. Lots of DEET spray too!

I was interviewed last week for a piece in the Inside Nova newspaper. Supposed to be available online as well (www.insidenova.com). Should be in print shortly before I leave. I will be the handsome guy (the only guy) in the pics. Thanks for looking, and more to follow........
